The Pop Art influences
     Date:2017-02-15

Starting from the seventies to the Nineties many artists included in their ceramic creations influences coming from the Pop art poetics, which became popular in Italy from the half of the Sixties thanks to the exhibitions of American artists taking part to the Venice Biennial in 1964 (where Rauschenberg won the main Prize). Functional objects, advertisement signs carrying also political messages, blowups became elements typical of this new form of art and involved the painting, the sculpture and the graphics with the aim to be ironic, sometime irreverent and biting. The artists Leoni, Bonaldi and Nespolo are the representatives of this tendency which developed following different and original artistic proposals.
